Choosing an electric juicer for you and your family will very much depend on your needs and usage. If you are starting out having never juiced before, begin with a simple, inexpensive juicer. Centrifugal juicers are fast and user friendly, have a wide mouth to drop and juice most fruits and vegetables into, meaning minimal preparation and no cutting. Nowadays centrifugal juicers can be found in most department stores, and most certainly on-line. The go-to brand that I recommend is Phillips.
If you would like to invest more money into buying a juicer, then I have to tell you it is well worth it. Masticating and twin gear juicers, although much more expensive and much slower at making juice than a centrifugal juicer, provides a taste and texture that is really superior. A twin gear juicer, due to its mechanism (its like a press) for example, extracts more juice and therefore more nutrients. We love and have had the Green Star - elite juice extractor and the Omega Press but the juicer that currently resides in our home is the nama Juicer! This juicer is quieter, cleaner and more cost effective. Resulting in more juice for your produce, that is both smooth and flavourful!
